Thank you to all those family and friends that came to listen to Sis. Duncan speak at her farewell last Sunday! She felt very blessed to have so many people that have made such important contributions to her life through the years all in one place! Unfortunately Sis. Duncan's Visa was a no show. Instead of sending her off to Brazil from Portland, the church instructed her to report at the MTC in Provo, Ut. On Monday Sis. Duncan and her parents drove with her grandpa and grandma Searle down to Provo. We were all invited to stay at her Aunt Minta and Uncle Brett's home until the drop off. Tuesday we were able to go through a temple session at the Salt Lake City Temple. Her mom loved watching her reactions to the beautiful temple that she had been married in over 23 years ago!
Wednesday came very quickly and Sis. Duncan loaded up in the car with her parents, her grandparents and her Aunt Minta. First we stopped at Fotogenix where Sis. Duncan had a quick photo shoot with our family friend and photographer extraordinaire, Jeff. He took pictures of Chelsea Dade when she was a baby so it was very exciting to have him shoot her on her special day. Then on to her last meal:).........Thai! Pad Gai was her choice for lunch and then on to the MTC!
It was such a beautiful day! As we got closer to the campus the traffic became tighter and we became just one in a large line of cars at we pulled up to the gate. The very nice man gave us a purple sticker for the windshield to let everyone know we had a sister missionary on board. As we pulled up to the curb and piled out of the car one of the missionaries waiting to greet us made a joke as he inquired how many people were actually in the car..yep, we had the whole "clown car" effect going on! The time was here! The beautiful, kind and enthusiastic sister that greeted Chelsea Dade grabbed her bags and they went on their way. Sis. Duncan was so happy she almost seemed to be floating! She is so ready for this moment, she has prepared for it all of her life! Go Sister Duncan!
I know Dade would love to hear from you!
